I am putting together a part list for my younger bro who wants a computer for minecraft mostly. I want the price to be as close to $1000 as possible. Any suggestions on changes i should make?

You might want to take a look at this because it is going to be much faster and 1TB is more than most people need. If this is primarily for minecraft than this SSD probably has more space than you need.

The keyboard/mouse/headset seem a bit overkill. Especially the headset. It would work, but you could do better for the money.

You should stay with the 1tb hdd because he might grow out of Minecraft and need more space.

I've been running a 160GB HDD for about 6 years and it's only half full. I recently talked to our IT guy and he said that most people only use about 80GB.

Really? I go through several times that since modern games/software are getting larger and larger. IMO the ideal thing to do in his situation would be to compromise on the keyboard/mouse/headset and add a small SSD in addition to a HDD.

Yeah, that would probably be best. You may not need that much space but it's good to have it.
