Hello, I have a roommate who takes up a lot of bandwidth from the internet. I am allowing him to use my router which is a Linksys E2500. Is there anyway to limit how much bandwidth he can actually use. I'm not really the techy type of person so please make it at easy as possible to understand thanks.

Short answer no

You might be able to get use the QoS features in your router to favor your machine over his but this has limited ability. You could also try the parent control features but this involves completely blocking his access by time of day or blocking certain sites.

Since you say you are not technical then replacing the firmware with dd-wrt is not a option. Although this software has more features it still does not have a way to cap a user or hard limit traffic usage
