Linksys wrt54g limits my broadband speed

I've got a wtt54g vers. 2 cable router, that limits my broadband speed. directly through
modem i get 1,2 mbits, with router only 550kb/sec

Did you try updating the firmware? You could try DD-WRT firmware.

I have. It increased the speed on my wired desktop (to 1.2), but remained the same on the wireless.

well, now i've reset it properly through the menu, speed increased to 760 kbits. better, but I hope it can be increased further. Nothing blocking signal, tried different channels too...
