Did you purge the loop of any air? As in was the loop primed before you got the system up and running? If not, then the reduction of fluid in your res would indicate that the air in your loop might've evacuated.
Mind sharing a picture of your loop and it's specs?
To see if you have a leak, inspect the system around every connection(fitting/o-ring seal) to see if there is a puddle under it. You can use paper towels to help identify the source of the leak. I use green kitchen/paper towels(somewhat hard to find now) during watercooling loop assembly's since the drop of water is easier to spot.
