List of older boards

I'm looking for a list of older mobos. For what was considered top of the line gaming back in 2004-2008 era. Essentially a discontinued list of parts and accessories I can try to find and purchase and make some incredible, cheap rigs for the mid 2000's era. Any help would be appreciated.

Your options are new man. I'm looking for OLD gaming mobos from the era when a p3 1ghz and a p4 2.0 was blazing fast. Dual core wasn't even on the market yet during the time im looking for. Boards with a single agp slot and straight pci slots.

Unfortunately there is no such list since LGA 775 is considered old on most tech forums; P4 era hardware is ancient.

Your best bet is to go through older reviews and see what reviewers used as their test setups; test setups are often over the top to prevent bottlenecks with whatever hardware they test.

I'm not sure where to look for reviews. I just did a date search from 01/01/2005-01/01/2008 and found posts from 2006 so that is great for me. I would assume I just have to sift through those and see what I find. Even posts with people having trouble gives me model#'s of old boards and such. Sadly I never thought to use that feature as I had no idea tomshardware was around that long. Thank you for your reply.


UPDATE: I've been successful. Using http://www.cpu-upgrade.com/ I sifted through to the exact processor I wanted then viewed a list of all boards that worked with that processor. Perfect for what I needed it for. Thanks again for your help guys.

ive still got my 2003 win xp release dell full tower if you want that. was a top of the line $1000 pc in 2003. got agp graphics and 2 gb ddr ram.

Ill sell it to you for $200 if you want :lol:
