Anyone have a proven way to load WINXP home or pro on a new drive? A link to read about it would be great. Thanks

Perhaps my article is decent...

It's a pretty simple process actually. With a bootable CDROM, it's even better :)

I just completed an install to a new, unformated 120gig drive.
I let XP CD boot, format the new drive with NTFS and installed
the OS with no problems.

whats the difference between NTFS and FAT32? which one is better? I use my system mostly for word processing, gaming and surfing

I prefer NTFS. Read links below for better decision making.

OK I'll give it a try. The other week I tried an upgrade disk for winME. It would not boot off the cd rom. It would not take the install number. It said it was an invalide number. MS changed the ability to load an upgrade when they made winME. What poeple are saying now is that MS changed the upgrade OS back so that it can now be loaded on a new drive? Well I'll give it a try.
