Logitech wireless remotes don't work

After reading about how good Logitech wireless controllers are, I bought
four of them for my X-Box. The very first time I used them they worked
perfectly. Now they only work intermittently. For example, I'm playing
Halo and they all work fine at first, then someone all the sudden can't
control their character, then another person, then it will work again for
the first person, etc. I push the button on top of that thing that's plugged
into the X-Box and fool with it, and after a while I can get it to work.
Then eventually it will stop working or someone else's controller stops
working. The button doesn't seem to consistently do anything. I read the
instructions, they just don't seem to help.

Is anyone else having this problem? Is there a way to fix it? Is it
possible that my surround receiver, dvd, other electronic stuff, etc. could
be interfering with the signal?

I have 3 of these things, and have never had a single problem...
batteries?

I had similiar problems with my Logitech controller...was good for
about 6 months...then couldnt control my player any longer...stopped
using it and heard this is an ongoing prob...so no more wireless
controllers until the next gen arrives.

I don't have a Logitech controller, but my Wavebird will stop working if
we use our cordless phone. I'm sure there are other devices that could
affect them.

But what you are describing really sounds like batteries. You did check
them, right?

My Logitech PS2 wireless controller works flawlessly -- a pity I can't
say the same for my Logitech Xbox wireless controller.

Exactly. The one for my PS2 works perfectly.

I have found they can be affected by several things including

cordless phones
Microwave ovens
Wireless LANs

It could be that a neighbour of yours is using a cordless phone at the time
they are having problems and when they finish their conversation your
controllers work again.

The original controller with four batteries was clearly not ready for
prime time. It had lags, drop-outs, and would suddenly quit for no
apparent reason. The new precision controller is another animal
entirely.

Now, if Logitech could make the wireless microphone work, all will be
good.
