Hey there toms hardware, I have a not so urgent thing thats bugging me. On Logysis cold cathodes, It includes unsleeved cables with a pci board. Any way I can buy a cable that goes from the molex to the inverter directly?

Solution
I've used these previously, and I have bypassed the expansion-slot switch as well because I didn't care for having to reach behind my PC to turn my lights on and off.

What I did was disconnect the two leads going into the switch then solder them together, thus eliminating the switch. Doing so makes it so the lights are then always on. I didn't care for that, so I used a fan controller for the power connection to control not only if they were on, but how brightly they would shine.

Not every fan controller is good for this task, though. Some don't shut off completely and instead have a minimum of 5V or 7V output, which means the lights would draw power at all times and thus still always be on, either dimly or just barely lit...

Controllers which have knobs that can shut a channel completely off work best.

Essentially, this process moves the switch from the rear of the PC to the front 5-1/4" or 3-1/2" bay (depending on the controller) while additionally providing full control of the intensity.
