I was wondering why there so little traffic about this addon. Is there
no interest whatsoever? Supposedly it corrects many of the radar bugs of
LOMAC and introduces an advanced flightmodel for the Su25. Many bugfixes
throughout. Online distribution only...

It really seems like a worthwhile addon...

Im anxiously waiting, the frog looks like great fun. Seemed quite a bit of
talk a couple months ago but has dropped off recently.

Well, if it's mostly just fixing bugs, it should be a patch, not an add-on

If it's 39.99 for an add-on forget it.

Yeah and still no dynamic campaign.

Lomac (or Flanker2 for that matter) as a combat sim never really held my
attention for long. But I'm really looking forward to finally getting a
plane with very realistic and highly satisfying handling. I hope to spend
many happy hours just flying around pushing the flight envelope and trying
to break the undercarriage in interesting ways 🙂

However I've a feeling this release may mark the beginning of the end for
Lomac. When you see all the moaning about the contents (what, no American
aircraft?), price (HOW much for an add-on?) and release methods (I won't
use Paypal no matter how cost effective it might be for a small company
like ED) on various forums, then take into account the fact that most folk
won't notice much difference between vanilla Lomac and 1.1, I don't think
ED will sell that many copies... certainly not enough to encourage this as
a way to move the game engine on in affordable stages. (I mean affordable
to us and to ED in terms of development time and resources).

Which means I have no real hope that the Flanker will ever get the Su-25T
flight model enhancement... which is a real shame! Still, with the dollar
being given away free with breakfast cereals these days $35 is very cheap,
so maybe 1.1 will do well in Europe after all. I live in hope!

Because its beyond time that a decent campaign is added to the series. Igor
Tiskin described to me a very interesting campaign system in 1998 that has still
not seen the light of day.

Falcon 4 and Enemy Engaged produced some of the best atmospheres and campaigns
around and ever since every other sim with no campaign has seemed dead.

IL-2 and Pacific Fighters brilliant sims, an order of magnitude more polished
than LoMac and they as well feel dead when playing. Whereas Falcon 4 feels like
you are in the middle of a major war....

Lomac is my favorite sim and "flaming Cliffs" add on will just add to
the enjoyment. Those screen shots are incredible.

Hey PD - give Rowan's BoB with the BDG Groups updates a try. Takes
some getting used to the interface but it is an excellent campaign
module and playable on a multitude of levels. Its a far more engageing
sim than IL2 or LOMAC in any of their iterations IMO..

I agree - I dont buy sims anymore that dont have a dynamic campaign or semi
dynamic (like Tornado) which means that unfortunately I cant buy sims
anymore :-(

These days I play strategy games which do have dynamic elements in them like
Rome Total War etc but I miss the flight sims and space sims. Maybe one of
these days we will get a good sim that has these aspects. At the moment
though the only ones that even look promising are Silent Hunter 2 and the
soon to be released Battle of Britain Wings of Valour or whatever the name
is.

I actually prefer jet flight sims but the choice of none is frustrating. I'm
personally a bit fed up with F4 now.

I believe in reading about this, I saw some comments to the effect that it
will be available November 2004!

I guess they didn't make it.

Oh no! The dreaded 2 weeks!%^))

Anyway, am flying F4/FF3 and having a ball. Actually, it has immersed
me
since 1998.
But I was watching a video made by a virtual pilot group in China, and
it
"looked" the best I have seen! (Formation flying with colored smoke,
then carrier take-off, ariel refueling, missile attack on ACC, then
they
down 3 FA-18's. Awesome video. Then, I watched a couple vids from this
soon to be released vid LOMAC, Flaming Cliffs. I think one was just
called
SU25T. The other was called vicgor attack or something. But both were
very
immersive in their sound and appearance. Don't know about anything
else, but
it "looks" and sounds great. Does LOMAC, or Flaming Cliffs have ATC?
thanks,
E-Man
