Is it OK to have a dd3 ram with i5 6600k or do I have to buy ddr4?

the 6600k is only DDR3L (low voltage) and DDR4 ready not regular DDR3, which you need will depend on the motherboard. most retail motherboards will be DDR4, I have seen OEM boards with 6xxx series chips that have ddr3.
