I'm having trouble finding wired gaming controller with a 12+ foot cord. Do they even exist? 10 foot is too short. I can't use a detachable wire either because they like to slip out of the controller. This sounds like a tall order.

if you find a wired controller that you like then you can attach a USB extension to the included wired cable.

there are many extension cables that will not "slip out" due to them having a fitted attachment that squeezes the cable heads together.
you could also get a USB hub that has it's own extended cable and just plug the gamepad directly into that.

if you're rough enough with your gamepads that you'd pull it out of such a connection,
then you'll also be pulling any built-in cable out of the PC's own USB ports.

i doubt you'd find a decent gamepad that comes with such a long cable built-in.
why not a good wireless gamepad?

An extension? That's a pretty good suggestion. Thanks.

My current problem is that I hooked up a ps4 controller to my PC. It says I'm connected to blue tooth, but when I fire up Steam, I cannot play anything until I plug the cable into the remote. The cable slips out all too often and I don't want to ruin the port on the controller because I still use it on my ps4.

i've not seen any controllers at all that still have a connected cable. and believe me i looked. def did not see any with a 12 ft cable no matter how it connects.

an extender is pretty much your only chance if you can find one that still has a built in cable.

Yeah you need another software adapter typ. used for ps2 emu ...ps3 in your case, to get things mapped however you want. See the emu. forums.

To be clear about 'extensions' the 12' cable length is going to make fast USB2.x and 3.x connections nope out; the extensions would be active signal relays with chips in them, e.g. every 1.5 to 2 meters.

Active optical ones seem to do the trick? PD alongside... If you'd order 10 they'll take y'r $150 and note you whatever it might take to cover any tariffs. https://m.alibaba.com/x/xn0T1za?ck=pdp
