Hello there, I'm currently using a ssd of 500gb for my os system and some installed games while using the HDD for documents, media storage only and some minor games that are not heavy at all.
Now I'm looking to buy a new SSD of 1tb but I'm looking for options that are bang for buck If possible without having to cut corners on durability and reliability, so something that will endure just fine for gaming.
Hopefully someone can give me some suggestions it would be greatly appreciated 👍

What motherboard?
SATA III or NVMe?
Budget?
What is the current drive?

I have a b550m aorus elite motherboard, ideally SATA 3 and budget of $100 but I wanna keep it low if possible, so Samsung products might have to be a no, im currently using a crucial mx500 of 500gb for OS and gaming it's already on 88% life remaining

Another MX500, $85
https://www.amazon.com/Crucial-MX500-NAND-SATA-Internal/dp/B078211KBB

Samsung 970 EVO Plus, $100

2TB for $160
https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-970-EVO-Plus-MZ-V7S1T0B/dp/B07MFZXR1B

Crucial P3, $80
https://www.amazon.com/Crucial-Plus-PCIe-NAND-5000MB/dp/B0B25NXWC7

Also, just leave the OS and whatever else on the MX500.
Add this new drive just for more drive space.

Sure.
Although some people have reported problems with the 870.

Maybe look at the 860 EVO instead.

Zero performance difference.

Speaking of inexpensive mSATA 3 SSDs, I was recently upgrading my brother's laptop, and we chose the ROGOB 1TB mSATA SSD SATA III. In the rating of inexpensive SSDs for 1 TB, this brand has proven itself well. There are also good low-cost Leven SSDs.
