I'm running a pretty old machine ASUS MB, AMD k6III 450, ~190MB, XP Pro sp2.
I have 2 HDs, one (C:) 8GB and one 40GB, both Max, both worked fine till to
day.
The BIOS can see and recognize both, XP does not see the second one any
more. Neither in Explorer, My Computer, Disk Management or Hardware. The
drive is ~ 1/2 a year old, yes it is formatted (NTFS).
I ran the machine in safe mode, it did see it. A bit later after I re-
booted in normal mode and once again in safe mode even in save mode could not
see it any more.
Please help me, or give me at least a hint where to start looking.
Greetings, Joe.

Might want to run MAX drive utility on it and see if it even recognises
the drive.

Hi Jesse,
Thank you very much, I found it, the cable was some what loose or so. I
opened the box pressed the cable harder in to the HD, as well as on to the
MB, now it works.
Greetings, Joe.
