Hello,
I have a custom built PC which i plug into a Surge Protection Extension Lead Strip with individual switches for each socket. Every time I'm done using the PC i shut it down then flick the switch on the surge protection extension lead strip because it randomly turns itself on then shuts down. I've researched this problem and nothing seems to fix it so to prevent this i cut the power off. The problem I'm facing now is, every time i turn the power back on, I hear a concerning loud pop from my PC but everything works fine. I'm not sure whether the pop is from the PSU as my case is enclosed, but i think i saw a spark from the extension lead strip although there's a light indicating that the surge is working.
What could be causing this problem? This only happens with the socket where my pc is plugged in, all the other sockets are fine. My PSU is the Corsair RM550x Series 80 PLUS Gold Full Modular.
Ps. i dont switch the power on back of the PSU, just at the extension lead strip
Many thanks
