Question Low fps despite really low settings

I got my pc around 2017-ish. it's prebuilt, and pretty poor. But it surprisingly ran games like fortnite, rainbow six siege, etc at 60 fps on medium-high settings. For the past year or so it's been much worse in performance. I play fortnite on the lowest possible settings with reduced resolution and experience frequent drops in fps to around 30-40fps. I've cleaned the PC of dust, thermal paste looks good, I've changed an absurd amount of settings and nothing changes. I need help 🙁

AMD RX 560 2gb GPU
AMD Fx-6300 6 Core CPU
Gigabyte 970A-DS3P Motherboard
8gb RAM

how many sticks of ram do you have ? Is it in dual channel ?

I have one stick of ram. It is not in dual channel.

How did you come to the conclusion "the thermal paste looks good."?
