So I recently built a computer for my brothers birthday. It has my old gtx 970, and when that card was in my old system it used to run most games at much higher than 60fps. So I installed it in this computer and now games like skyrim and tf2 are running at 20-40 fps. The only thing I can think thats happening is that the system is using the integrated graphics in the processor. I have tried the basic fixes with the issue I suspect. But nothing works. Please help.
Update: it's not running the games on the integrated graphics. I think. The are disabled and uninstalled. All temperatures are normal. What could possibly make this thing run like this

intel i5 3570k
16gb ram ddr3
Asrock z77 pro
Corsair 500w psu
Wd blue 500gb harddrive
