Low FPS (HELP)

Hello, I have a big problem that is really bothering me :\. So, I've bought a gaming computer (Alienware i7 core, GTX 260M, a good compute) So, I bought a couple new games, they worked fine (fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas) Then after a while I played my games, and they had such a low fps! I was horrified, I reinstalled my graphic drivers, updated, everything i could think of. Then now I'm not sure what to do please help

Could be heat issue, try checking the CPU and GPU temp.

well, those games are notorious for being badly optimized.
