Well hello there,

I have recently bought a new Sapphire RX 480 4GB graphics card for my ~3 years old system.
However I am having problem with the performance of my computer since then.

- I am noticing that Chrome browser feels laggy at random times, so is scrolling the pages
- I am having lower FPS than before in CS:GO on open space maps
- I have recently tried to play Battlefield 1 single player, despite having game set up on High and better video settings, the graphics rendered very low, and it seemed like everyting is on Low settings: http://imgur.com/a/v8674
- Also, sometimes when I start BF1, I get this Windows message/error: https://i.ytimg.com/vi/eoPWAQAOLY0/maxresdefault.jpg

These are the most common examples when I have noticed the problem.
GPU temps in idle are OK, it seems, around 50-52 degrees and it didn't go too high when playing BF1.

My system is: CPU Intel i5 3350P, RAM 8GB DDR3, PSU XFX PRO 550W, MoBo MSI B75MA-P45.

Can it be that some of the old components can't keep up with the modern GPU?
I have tried to reinstall graphics drivers, including using the Driver sweeper in Safe mode. Didn't help. Thinking of reinstalling Windows completely but that would be the last option.

If any of you can help, big thanks.

i would just reinstall windows at this point. but that's just me since i really don't know your setup all that well. have you checked to see what your RAM utilization is at in task manager?

I know you said that you installed/reinstalled the driver for the 480, but did you download the newest one from AMD or use the one that came with on the CD? Did you create a custom fan curve to keep your temps nice while under load? If not, you should. Just curious what your old video card was? I know that the new AMD RX cards aren't powerhouses like Nvidia's newer cards, so I was wanting to make sure you didn't downgrade.

Thanks for your replies.
I have checked RAM stats now: http://i.imgur.com/fSBkRcq.png

And yes, since I don't have CD-ROM anymore I have downloaded the latest drivers for the card from the AMD website. The old GPU was R9 270X 2GB, I am pretty sure I did not downgrade :)

I did that mate, in windows safe mode.

most interesting is the fact that Battlefield 1 looked like its on LOW settings and I had almost everything on ULTRA.
From this it would seem like a driver problem, right?

those screens you posted don't look all that bad to me. sorry if you've already said this, but have you check to see what your core/memory clock speeds are at? i've had MSI afterburner set all mine to the very lowest before with an HD 7970 a while back, for no particular reason. took me a few hours to figure it out...
