LSD vs trace cache

can anyone tall me what's the difference between conroe~sandy bridge's loop stream detector and netburst's executive trace cache? and is LSD act as a cache or just branch predicting unit? same apply to trace cache, is it really a cache or just a rom?

ok let's simplify the question, what is the size of loop stream detector and what's the connection between it and execution trace cache?

plus what is the "28 loop" in nehalem processor means?
