[SOLVED] m.2 PCIe x4 adapter compatibility conerns

I am currently using an HP Z820 workstation, using the 158b motherboard with dual Xeon CPUs, I a planning on upgrading to an m.2 NVME SSD via a PCIe but i am worried that it might not be compatible with my motherboard, and i am also concerned that the performance i will be getting will be lower than the actual potential of the ssd i will be installing.

it have these
3 PCI Express Gen3 x16 slots
1 PCI Express Gen3 x4 slot - with x8 connector

might not be able to boot from it tho.
