My motherboard doesnt support m,2 ssd.

I want to buy an m.2 ssd instead of sata ssd for future proof when I buy a new motherboard with m.2 ssd support.

the only PCIE slot currently available is the x1 slot PCIE 3.0.

So should I go for USB 3.0 ?

or buy a new normal SSD.

Don't try to "future proof".

Drive prices, per GB, almost always go down over time.

Get what is applicable for this system, and worry about the future system when you build it.

For this system, just get a 2.5" SATA III SSD.

ok ty, but drive prices doesn't drop fast in India, most of the time the prices stay the same unless there's like a festival or event discount. Plus m.2 and 2.5 SSD have the same price if 2.5 SSD were cheaper I would buy it without a question.
its frustrating to buy a slower storage knowing there's a faster one in the same price.
