I have a Maximus Hero IX Mobo and want to get an M.2 nvme ssd. I was thinking about this one? I noticed that on my Mobo there are two spots for m.2 drives. Are they similar to Pcie lanes like with video cards and you want to make sure to install it in the correct one for the best speeds (like putting your video card in a pcie x16 lane instead of an 8x), or are they both one and the same?
Secondly, this is very important. I do NOT want to reformat my pc ( the M.2 drive I will, I understand that) but I do NOT want to reinstall everything on my pc. (I'm replacing this with my OS drive) I would like to do a literal "copy and paste" of everything on my current OS drive and paste it to the new M.2 drive after I get it installed and formatted. Is there a program that can help me do that?
Any help is appreciated.
