Hey everyone! :)

I don't know if I am just doing something wrong, but I'm really confused as I couldn't find anything on google.

So I bought a Crucial P3 1TB M.2 NVME. When it arrived and I wanted to install, I saw that the NVMe is the dimensions for the slot 8 and not 10. I have an B450 Aorus Elite and the main NVMe port should be 40% faster, but this has a heatsink and screw hole only for a 10cm NVMe, so I had to put it into my secondary, with no heatsink, because this one only accepts 8cm.

Is there any way for me to plug it into the first, main port? Is there maybe a mounting screw to fit into the 8cm whole of the main port?

Really appreciate any help, thanks!

All the best,
penut

Are there not multiple holes under the first M2 heatsink? You should have got additional standoffs and screws with the motherboard. You put one in the appropriate hole and then screw the M2 drive in.

Thank you both so kuch for the reply and sorry for the late reply! :)

I have just found to buy the standoffs, so I've ordered them immediately. I first thought that the standoff on the motherboard can be unscrewed, but that one seems soldered/permanently on the mobo.

Can I use the 10cm heatsink on the 8cm M.2?
