M5a87 motherboard

I bought a new chassis today and it has a 4pin male and female (dont know the real name) connector. They are clear and I had never seen a fan use that before. I took that adapter off and I was left with the 3 pin very small tiny connector that all my other fans have used. Problem is...I do not see a connector for that fan to be plugged in on on this mother board. Has anyone seen this before? What do I do about this?

Put the adaptor back on and plug it in.

i would but i do not have the connector to do so, my power supply does not have a 4 pin male one. which is why i took the adapter off to begin with.

Plug it into the motherboard.
