^ All of these positions against Apple seem to be taken from the perspective that the customer has no choice. ...that Apple is somehow...somehow forcing the customer to use their products and then taking away the customer's freedoms. I could be mistaken but I don't believe this to be the case. I thought people choose Apple products (which, again, is not me, I have no Apple products). So if those people chose to pay for the Apple products it would seem that those people also chose to pay to play in Apple's walled garden. These are folks that don't get satisfaction from micromanaging their phones the way Android allows us geeks to, they do other things for fun I imagine. I'm a geek, I admit it, I like to tinker with my phone. Some see that as weird. Fine by me.

Doctors, Lawyers, Commercial Aviators, Combat Pilots, Accountants, Software Engineers, System Administrators, etc. ...many of which are using Apple iPhones and are obviously what many would associate with being highly intelligent. See for these folks, its not important to be able to change their phone's battery or to have (what to me is) a decently sized screen (5.5"+ on my Note 2 and hopefully Note 3). Imagine that, a dual PhD, MD that chose to use an iPhone...misguided naive iSheep iDiot. Yeah, go ahead and believe that until your heart is content.

Us techies want to micromanage our gadgets, I get that. ...but that doesn't mean that the rest of the world wants to or needs to. I can't imagine wanting to use iOS anymore but I get paid to be a tinkerer and that's where my interests lie.

This article is about the venerable Mac Pro...how did we get off on this tangent?
