I am making a PC build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/bGxYf7
And I want it to look like this (theme wise, no custom loop):http://pcpartpicker.com/b/3k4D4D

I have two problems here, mainly with the motherboard.

Its has RED!!

Now, I have seen threads of people painting their heatsinks and some saying its ok to do so and others say it can make your temps go up, or removing the color with easy off causes instant oxidation on the aluminum etc etc. What are your thoughts on painting motherboards? Is there any specific paint or method you would go about using?

Also, is there any way I can order thermal armor for the motherboard? I couldnt a yes or no answer if they make custom thermal armor, or armor for the board.

Solution
The build you linked didn't use paint. He/She used a cover. Some motherboard manufacturers have covers for some of their motherboards. The one he/she used is a Gigabyte motherboard with a black cover. Asus also makes covers for their motherboards, but don't expect paying less than around $160 for the motherboard with the cover.

As for the paint: I wouldn't recommend it. Mostly because there is a chance the motherboard will heat up due to paint. Alot of motherboards already come with Red heatsinks, so why do you want to paint them? Also paint is a liquid and: Liquid + Motherboard = BIG No No. Probably not as damaging as water, but I wouldn't try it.

If you have the budget: Just get a good motherboard and buy a cover for it....

Wow, never knew that they make motherboard covers for heat sinks. I couldnt find one, is there any way you can link me?

They don't make covers for the individual heatsinks, they make a cover to cover the whole motherboard only having openings at PCI-E, CPU socket, etc. The linked build is using one. But motherboards already come with red and black themed heatsinks, so why do you want to paint them?

Just type in "Motherboard Cover" or "Motherboard Thermal Armor" and find a motherboard that supports that Thermal Armor. I would just stick to leaving the Motherboard uncovered and using the red/black themed motherboard stock heatsinks to make it look good.
