Hello,

I've bought a new graphics card for my old computer because the old graphics card with the NVIDIA chip GT 610 isn't supported any more by Windows and Linux. The new graphics card I bought here has an NVIDIA GT 1030 chip which is still supported by NVIDIA. Unfortunately, my old computer doesn't accept this graphics card: On booting, the BIOS beeps once long and twice short, which according to Wikipedia denotes a problem with the graphics card, and the monitor connected doesn't show anything.
The motherboard is MS-7204 (MICRO-STAR INTERNATIONAL), the BIOS is from Phoenix Technologies, date 09/26/2005.
Is there anything I can do to make the new graphics card compatible with the old computer?

What OS are you running?

Here are some thoughts on your issue.

Regardless your intention of wanting to run 32 bit OS with the GT 1030 were getting long in the tooth with compatibility.

Yes the Nvidia GT 1030 does say it supports 32 bit OS's but even on the actual Maxsun.com official page only links a 64 bit driver.

What CPU are you running on the MSI 775 motherboard. Is it a 32 bit or 64 bit CPU.

Why I ask is yes the GT 1030 might run a 32 bit OS but on booting the PC the card might be looking for all the right hand shakes between the GPU and the motherboard BIOS.

If a 32 bit CPU is in there it would beep and not boot as the card would also be looking for the 64 bit support.

Although I have not had a hands on Nvidia 1000 pascal series GPU that came with only UEFI video BIOS that right there would stop it in it's tracks booting.

Although not officially driver supported anymore I personally have the best luck stopping on Nvidia 900 series cards for vintage motherboards. The card still works with the final Nvidia driver offered even know time marches on.
