Do you really want to get a 7900GTX? While a strong card, mid-Jan is when both nvidia and AMD will be bringing out the full lines of DX10 cards for Vista upgraders. I'd wait for reviews of the new cards first. They'll all run DX9 fast, and it will more future proof your system if you can't afford to upgrade GPU's twice in one year.

By Mid-Jan i wouldn't bother with a 7900GTX, it's already pretty out-dated. By Mid Jan i suspect that nVidia's new mid range cards will be out and they should rival the performance of the 7900GTX if upgrades from previous generations are anything to go by.

I agree with the above posts. Getting a 7900GTX isn't a good choice come January unless you find one heck of a bargain. Right now, I don't see any good deals on that card. They are in fact very expensive at least at the sites I've seen.

Wait and get a good midrange DX10 card.

Good choice on CPU. Do you plan on overclocking? If you do, get some DDR2 800 memory. If not, DDR2 533 or 667 will be good enough. I like the Crucial Anniversary DDR2 667 sticks personally.

Make sure you pick out a PSU with a minimum of 450 watts but also at least 18 amps on each of the 12V rails. But be sure that the PSU puts out enough Watts on both of the rails to get 16 Amps at once. They might handle 18 or more but the PSU might not necessarily put out that much.

Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 is a good mobo as is the ASUS A8N-E. The MSI platinum is also a nice choice. Pick the one that meets your needs.

For hard drive, the Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 320GB Perpendicular drive for 95 at Newegg can't be beat.

Hope this gives you some ideas.

Thanks guys. I'm probally not going to overclock but may concider it in the future. I would like to get an sli mobo thatway insdead of upgrading cards I just double the cards.:) as for price I can apperenlty get the 7900gtx for around $200 Canadain when the dx10 cards get big and plentiful. I'm going to hold off for now then and see some dx 10 reviewes. Itwould suck to spen 800 on a card just to get 15 fps the next month.
