Had the guy done what he said he would do, protect his client from Viruses, than he should charge whatever he thinks he is worth. If that is a million dollars, so be it.
Only if the guy is lying about either having a virus or being able to prevent a virus, would I sat what was done was unethical/illegal/wrong.
Conseguir computer services are worth as much as the client values his precious data, PERIOD.

And not every person is computer literate enough to use Linux (or even be aware of its existence).

Considering that millions of people use Windows, one person is hardly representative of the whole. I'm sure I could find stupid people who use Macs and Linux.

He will have earned it because he had to put up with his mother for longer than I did hahaha...at any rate, those you complaining about WHY he deserved to lose the money based on how he didnt earn it are one thing: Jealous. I dont just accept a diagnosis of incurable cancer, i get a second oppinion, and CERTAINLY if a pc repair guy told me some elaborate story about voodoo warlord catholic extremists were out to get me utilizing a computer virus, and my only hope was to trust his cousin in the indian military...come on we dont live in fantasy land...first thing I'd do is get my shit and leave then call the police.
