Marantz 300 cdr phone hookup

Hello,
Is there a way to record my conversation on a cd on the marantz 300 while on the telephone. Have radio shack device for phone hook up but it doesn't work?

The Radio Shack device is probably a small coil designed to work with a cassette recorder which has a dynamic mic input. Most CD recorders' inputs are line level (much higher voltage). So you'd need a pre-amp to bring the level up. Be aware that the design of the RS unit is likely to induce much hum.

I would tend to question the common sense of using a CD recorder -- they're temperamental compared to cassette or a solid state voice recorder.
