Matshita

I all, i just bought a dvd drive, the man in the shop said it was a panasonic, i've installed it and it is a matshita dvd drive! So he ******* lied to me, and it was a closing down sale so i can't go back and jump up n down and demand panasonic 1! Anyway it performs pretty well no jerking at all. I was just wondering if anyone had heard of this brand?

I'm not 100% sure because I can't remember this off of my head, but Panasonic is Matsushita or something close to that name. (Japanese company)

No, it's fine. My Panasonic says the same thing. I think a lot of drives do. I "assumed" Matsushita was just an OEM manufacturer that built drives for other companies. Sounds like Arrow might have a better answer.

He's got it right. Matshuita is Panasonic. It's sort of like Pontiac and GM.

I had a Matshuita CRW a couple of years ago and I can't say enough good things about it.

I think Matshuita (however it is spelled) is parent company of Panasonic... so you're fine

On a related question, what speed is it and how do you like it? I'm interested in getting a panasonic 8xDVD/40xCD drive.
