Maximize main window?

The main program window (before flight) that comes up when you start fs2004:
can't you maximize it somehow? A small box in the middle of the
screen--wow, that's convenient for reading flying lessons, etc. I hope I'm
just missing something simple.

What screen resolution have you got set? It sounds a bit too high I would
say. Your menus must be almost too small to read too? You might get better
performance too with slightly less resolution.

Yeah I know what you mean. I run at 1024x768 and the main program window
stays fixed at 800x600. You could temporarily set your screen resolution to
800x600 while reading, but that is inconvenient.

Another solution is to read the Learning Center articles outside of FS2004.
You can reach all of the files for the Learning Center in the Flight
Simulator directory in Windows. They are all in html format and you can
read them in a very large font in your normal web browser.

Yes I'd thought of that but couldn't find the files! Could you tell me
which directory they're in?

It's not really the size of the window, but rather that it's only displaying
a tiny part of the document at once--something that changing resolution
doesn't help.

I find it unbelievable that this could even be. I mean it's the first
screen that comes up! Are the creators of FS really this stupid? Same
problem when you're using the map in flight planner and such--confined to a
little window, scrolling around like a moron. Nice going MS "designers".

Just press the [alt] + [enter] keys and it will maximize the screen.

That toggles between desktop & pgm., but the window is still same size.

They're in the "FSWeb" directory under the "Flight Simulator 9" directory.
The articles are grouped there in different directories by their subject.

Thx; much easier.
