I recieved a new replacement drive from Compaq to replace a 6.4 gig drive. They sent me a MAXTOR 40 gig as a replacement. The problem is that it only shows up as a 6.4 gig drive even after doing a low level format. What did they do to the drive before sending it to me? The computer already has 20 gig drive in it also so it is not a bios issue.

Run partition magic and check if the hd has any more space for 2nd partition

You may have to enable large disk support in BIOS
