Hi Guys,
I know there are other threads out there for the same question on what memory is best suited for the i7-920 system.
I will be overclocking this and I do hope to reach 4.0-4.2Ghz and my current RAM modules are quite limiting.
P.S. multiplier is from 19-21
Specs:
CPU: i7-920 D0 (currently @ 3.67Ghz)
RAM: Kingston 1333Mhz 3x2GB 1.5V
MOBO: Gigabyte X58a-UD7
PSU: Cougar GX1050
CPU Cooler: Silver Arrow
So I am wondering on a few things. I have heard that i could use dual channel RAM just as long as I have 3 sticks of the same thing. Also they are about 1.5V. Would the G Skill Sniper modules work on the X58 board with their 1.25V?
So currently I'm looking at the following RAM due to price and availability in my location.
G Skill [ SNIPER ] F3-12800CL9T-12GBSR2 (4Gx3) (12GB) (1600Mhz CL9) (1.25V) (Price $86) http://www.gskill.com/products.php?index=394
(price per module $29)
or get the new 4 channel and use 3?
G Skill [ RipjawsZ ] F3-12800CL9Q-16GBZL (4Gx4) (16GB) (1600Mhz CL9) (1.5V) (Price $97) http://www.gskill.com/products.php?index=427
(price per module $24)
G Skill [ RipjawsZ ] F3-14900CL9Q-16GBZL (4Gx4) (16GB) (1866Mhz CL9) (1.5V) (Price $151) http://www.gskill.com/products.php?index=434
(price per module $38)
or get 3 of this?

or get 3 of this?

or get 2 of this?

Please help me out. Thanks
