I have a gigabyte DS3 rev 2 motherboard and an E4300 - if I want to overclock my E4300, do I need memory that can overclock? (never overclocked before, so excuse the ignorance :))

I'm looking at Kingston RAM (one recommended by Gigabyte). Due to financial constraints I can only afford 1 GB RAM. Should I get a dual channel or just one stick of 1 GB.

I'm also looking at DDR2-800 MHz.....

Thanks

DDR2-800 is plenty(even cheap or value RAM). With a 9x multiplier, 400FSB will be good for 3.6GHz. I doubt you'll get that high. DDR2-667 runs @ 333 MHz, and will still be enough for 3GHz(333x9=2997).

Get 2x512MB sticks for dual-channel...it will perform better than 1x1GB stick . GL :)
