[SOLVED] Memory upgrade , is it worth to go from 2400 to 2666?

Hello everyone, I have laptop with i7-7700hq (37.5 GB / s, ddr4-2400 support) and 2x16GB Kit wich work in dual channel Hyperx Impact 2400 MHz with 14-14-14 timings, I bought a new laptop with faster memory support , I switching to Intel Core i7 9750H (41.8 GB / s, ddr4-2666 support), should I update the RAM and will I get a significant profit from switching to the 2x16GB Kit Hyperx Impact 2666 MHz with 15-17-17 timings, or should I just bring the old memory in and not worry. The laptop is mainly used for 3d modeling / Render and Games. Thank you!

Not really considering difference in CL, nothing you would notice in real work anyway ad worth paying more.

Roughly the same thing. The 2666 is slightly faster, but has looser timings. Much would depend on exactly how the individual programs use the ram. For gaming you'll not see much, if any, improvement overall.

You’re on an intel platform so I’d say not much. It matters on Zen because of the infinity fabric.
