Memory ?

Hi, hopefully this isn't to dumb of a question but does triple channel memory work in the new P68 motherboards?(by work I mean just work but not in triple channel(I know the p68 chipset is duel channel)

Specifiacally will this triple channel memory G.SKILL Ripjaws, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231358 work in this Motherboard ASUS P8Z68-V PRO LGA 1155, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131730

I am inheriting some new parts, including that motherboard and my old X58 system parts will go to friend. I currently have 12 gb of G.SKILL Ripjaws and to save $ I was thinking of spliting my 12Gb, 6 for me, six for my friend. Or do I need to buy this memory for my P68 system to work instead? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145345 ?

Yeah, they will work fine

Put them in Slots 2, 3, 4.

Slots 2/4 will work in dual channel mode, while slot 3 will work in single channel

How do you split 3 x 4GB DIMMs into 6GB for you and 6GB for your friend? You can't. Someone gets 2 x 4GB DIMMs and the other gets the remaining 1 x 4GB DIMM.

Meybe he has 6 x 2GB ? .... split it with 3 friends.....6 GB ecah doesn't make sense but ....

2 x 2GB of each one x 3 friends

4 x 2B for OP and 2 x 2GB for friend

It's an impossibility because the link posted by the OP specifies that they have the G.SKILL Ripjaws F3-12800CL9T-12GBRL. It's a 3 x 4GB Triple Channel Kit.

ko888 is correct, I realized(after posting) that 3x4 gb sticks can not be split into 6 sorry for the unintentional conundrum
