Hello

I have a computer that has an intergated video card with motherboard. This computer has two hard disks that are separated into 4 patterns. When I add a video card into a free slot, the computer works well with this new card but it does not recognize the second hard disk (in "My Computer", I see only two patterns of the first hardisk). I donot know why...

Could you please help
Thanks

This might best be answered in the harddrive section of the Forum unless something is wrong with your GFX card not your going to find much help here.

my one is 350W. I think it is enough as the computer has only one DVD writer with two hardisk. I think that a reason is IRQ. Maybe the graphic card takes IRQ of the second hardisk

To check if it is an IRQ problem, you can try the following.

Enter BIOS and look for the "Assign IRQ for VGA" entry. Set it to No.
If it works all right, then it's and IRQ problem. You can solve it by disabling devices or ports that you don't use. IE serial1, serial2, parallel, modem, etc.

I don't know where but I read that it's better to assign an IRQ to the VGA. Use it for testing only.
