[SOLVED] Mobile/wifi connection very poor

I recently acquired a new Apple Inc. brand iPhone 6 mobile smartphone, and I've set it up all well and good, but for some reason the internet connection in my own house is horrible. I'm in the same room as my router and it's on one bar.
  1. My old phone and laptop connects fine in the same places
  2. I've done all the restarting of routers, settings, network settings etc.

Sound familiar to anyone?

Well dude, if everything else work OK except this phone, then there is something wrong with the phone. Acquired used?

Maybe you are holding it wrong like Steve Jobs said? :D

Always list all the hardware that you are having problems with, like your router and connection type, all that nitty-gritty because it's going to get asked later anyway.

If you have a spare router somewhere you could try that and see if it's still slow, try updating current routers firmware. What's the link speed phone is telling you?
