Mobo for AMD 64 S754

I've been researching this very issue for the last 8 hours.
I like to make an informed and informative decision. =P
The VIA K8T800 chipset is the best choice for now. It beats the Nforce3 150 and 150 pro chipsets almost every time. The SiS 755 A2 chipset is currently only available from ECS and comes on a value board with limited features. The ECS Board has put up very good numbers in comparison to other boards but it maxxes out at 2Gb DDR, up to 400Mhz, with only 2 slots available. If you're looking for IDE raid onboard with more than 2 drives the ECS board isn't a bad choice though as it has room for 4 drives. I've almost decided on the ASUS K8V board. Just waiting to hear/see its Benchmarks stacked up against some more Mobo's with the same VIA K8T800 chipset.
Hope that helps. =D

For socket 754 or 939, I'd go with the nforce3 250 boards just for the agp/pci lock. For memory, check with the manufacturer or one of the overclocking forums. Some boards are very picky about brand.

FOR THE BUCKS? Chaintech VNF3-250.

You'd better check the date in your windows installation, I don't think you're getting reviews from the past 3 months!

hehe. Oh great one will you help me. Anandtech bashed all of the nforce chipsets as being weak compared to our holy VIA
K8T800. What chipset should i get IYHO and is the K8V really the best board for the 64?

Anandtech told me that the nForce3 250GB is the top chipset and gave a stellar review to the MSI K8N Neo Platinum.

Thanks for the info I will probably go with an MSI NEO nforce3 250gb etc... I hear nforce a bit better for overclocking anyway. Also I already preordered the board before posting this.

thx. don't know how i missed that. DOH!
i think i'll go with the Epox 8KDA3+ though. I have no firewire needs
and if i ever do my sound card has a port.
I went through 3 MSI boards last year... blah. left a bad
taste in my mouth. GG =D
