Hi Guys,

I already have below parts (some new and some from the previous build). I'm looking for suggestions on Motherboard, RAM and PSU.

New:
  • Ryzen 5 3600
  • Samsung Evo 970 M.2 NYMe 500 GB
Old:
  • Cooler: Hyper 212X (I will use the stock cooler for some months though)
  • Case: Cooler Master K281
  • GPU: R7 Nitro 370 2GB
Need suggestions:
  • Motherboard: Thinking of getting MSI B450 TOMAHAWK MAX
  • RAM: 16 GB (2x8), G.Skill Ripjaws V 3200 Mhz OR Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200 Mhz?
  • PSU: Is 550W Bronze enough? I'll buy a better GPU in future (perhaps 1660 Super). The PSU should support that.
P.S.: Does the PSUs come with both 6 and 8 pin? In case I upgrade to 1660 Super in future, I'll need 8 pin connector.

This website (https://outervision.com/b/b2i4lH) tells me that 381W is enough for my usecase, in that case should I get CX500M?

Thanks!

Make and model of the PSU and it's age? Wattage and 80+ rating are only part of the story. The quality of the PSU should also be noted.

You might not be able to drop that Hyper212X unless it has the mounting option for AM4. The one I had doesn't have mounting support for AM4. Either ram kit will do.

Get the Samsung 970 Evo Plus version.

I see. How about Corsair CX550M and CX650M? I don't think this build needs a 600+ PSU.

Sorry I have already purchased Ryzen 3600 and 970 Evo.
