Modern glass wall monitors like on TV shows?

On some TV shows like NCIS and Nikita and others, I am seeing what looks like a glass wall which is a pc monitor, any ideas what this is called please?

I think it's called science fiction. Might actually be possible but nothing commercially available.

Yeah, I can't imagine how a single piece of glass can act as a monitor, I am thinking it would be a projection situation but it doesn't appear that way?

Probably either a projection or greenscreen

Why worry yourself over this? If and when it appears on store shelves I'm sure you'll hear of it.

I am a technology freak as they say and can't wait for something to become commercially available so always trying to create my own if I can. One thing I've always dreamed of having is a talking computer like Star Trek or better yet like what's in the movie with Denzel Washington where he was interacting with a computer in his paralyzed state.

Artificial intelligence is already possible. Except they are nowhere as intelligent as the average person.

CSI Miami has to be the worst offender for ridiculous levels of tech.

Yeah, in the show its probably all green-screen or hidden projectors. Stuff like that just doesn't exist in reality, or it is a very expensive custom job only possible if your name is Samsung or LG.

Interacting with a computer via non-physical means, its possible now, but entirely at a research/development level. Nowhere near mass consumer level. Also nowhere near interaction with the subconscious either.

correct, I found this answer "chromakey - for shooting they can just look and point at a green wall, and a computer generates the "monitor" image with glass effect etc as a video overlay."
