So today's my birthday and I received a 28 inch Asus VN289H monitor. I hooked it up and turned it on and immediately noticed that the edges of test and images looks blurry. It bothers me immensely to the point were i want to request it be sent back, but i don't want to be a pain for my parents. please help, only around 2 out of 100 reviews on newegg mentioned my problem, so i have hopes it can be fixed. HELP PLEASE!

Solution
getting somewhere mate,
make sure the settings are above - with hdmi only etc & all the settings are as my previous posting
click windows start bar
open control panel
in search box type cleartune
open the adjust cleartype app
make sure enable cleartype is ticked ,click the next box & follow the prompts
it should say your monitor is set to its default resolution ,if not change it
follow the prompts

if still not acceptable mate
then it maybe the dpi settings
right click on desktop
select personalize
bottom left of tab select display
ensure smaller - 100% box is ticked
apply

short of that mate its all you can do ,everything else will eb down to the monitor

on a hdmi capable monitor & gpu always use the hdmi cable only though mate

its digital & will offer a better picture than vga always.
on these monitors with multi picture modes always use srgb setting for desktop work/internet etc.
use the game mode for games as it disables processing
whatever settings you tweak for each picture mode will be saved for that picture mode only
it took me literally 2 months to get my monitor where I wanted it for srgb/game/ & movie picture modes & I still mess with settings now sometimes.

If youre still unhappy mate then it may just be the fact its a big big monitor & at 1080p sat close up you are noticing pixellation a lot more than you were on a little 21.5 inch.
I ddint even know there was a 28 inch 1080p model around till now, once you get above 26 inch they tend to jump to 1440p at least.
