Question monitor goes black

so i was taking a hair i saw off my gpu(the chip with all the little dot sand stuff) and i think when i touched it my gpu fan starting to spin then my monitor went black, the little light was blinking blue and when i pressed the power button on my monitor which would say hdmi in the corner and go off again is this a problem with my gpu or is it fine i have yet to see it do it again though it did it a few minutes ago the only way for me to fix the issue was to force shut my computer off at the wall and turn it on again as i said previously is my gpu fine or sholud i be concerned.
