[SOLVED] Monitor is glitching and skipping every three seconds

My monitor, Dell Ultrasharp 25, is glitching and skipping every three seconds, even when disconnected from the computer. What could be the problem?

This started after I cleaned the monitor with a slightly wet cloth. Could it be the case that some water got in?

Yup. It's done. Best you can do is leave it unplugged for a few days and see if it will dry out and work.

That's what I thought :/ But why is there a periodic skip instead of a static distortion?
