Question Monitor is Lagging on Games

Hello all,

I just bought Acer Nitro XZ396QU Pwmiipphx 38.5" 3000R Curved VA WQHD 2560x1440 Gaming Monitor and when gaming last night on Destony my FPS were dropping under 50 when I normally run around 140+. I have a Nvidia Geforce 3080 10gb, 16 gb ram, and a AMD Ryzen 2600x. Is there a reason I can not get good FPS on this monitor with my specs?

There are some factors that could come into play. Firstly, what resolution was your previous monitor? If it was below 1440p, you're going to see a difference in performance. On the other hand, a 3080 should be able to handle 1440p without issue. So this leads me to believe that maybe your v-sync settings had changed. Try playing without vsync, or replacing vsync with something more efficient, like gsync, if available. Also, go into your Nvidia Control Panel and look at the vsync options there too, as well as your framerate setting. It is possible the framerate setting was automatically changed as well.
