The problem:
Sometimes when I start my computer it will be in a lower resolution 1200x800(approximately). When I go into my control panel that is the max resolution even tho is should be 1650x1050. It also says that the display is "display device on: HDMI". I can change this to VW225 if I plug and unplug my HDMI cable and then it go to my normal resolution. How do I force it to always be on VW225 or some other way to fix this. The generic PhP monitor is just black but I know its there.

Some context:
This is not the first time this is happening I was happening before and I think my workaround was setting a custom resolution for the display device on: HDMI. This started happening again after I updated my graphics driver with a clean install.

Thank for replying.

Solution
-After you get your monitor working at it's rated resolution go to your graphic card settings depending whether it's an AMD or Nvidia and verify/adjust properties of your screen.
- if doesn't work try this monitor utility on Asus support website : >>http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/LCD%20Monitors/Utility/MultiFrame_1_1_1_1.zip
(Asus support page for your monitor >>https://www.asus.com/supportonly/VW225N/HelpDesk_Download/)
- You could also try to get windows to look online for better drivers (by changing driver update setting and allowing windows to look them up online)
