I suppose this has been asked before, yes I know but here it goes. Going to buy a new screen for my birthday this month (Feb.), and will be using it mainly for gaming but also movie viewing and schoolwork. Upgrading from a 1280x1024 screen (yes its shite). Sitting and contemplating between two 1920x1080 screens, my only problem is that one is 23" and the other 27"

ASUS VE278Q:

Eizo Foris FS2332:

Here in Sweden where I am the 23" Eizo Foris is around 280 dollars, while the 27" ASUS VE278Q is 380 dollars (that 100 extra dollars is not really a concern).

My main concern is the actual screen size, whether the 5 extra inches make that much impact on gaming, but I reckon watching movies on that 27" would be awesome though. But then again the Eizo Foris is an IPS screen which gives awesome colours? (Main reason i'm looking at it, because of the IPS) And the gaming, I know the 2ms would give an advantage with shorter response time, but my current screen is 8ms, and I can not right now see any ghosting, so the 6ms of the Eizo Foris would not bother me. Anyway I'm a bit confused and would really like some heads up!

Edit: What about 120Hz? Is it really worth it? I mean my GPU can't do 120 Fps anyway (Radeon HD 6970)

Cheers, LtnCharles.

The image on the 23" will look sharper than the 27" depending on the distance you're sitting away from the screen. I don't think the 5 extra inches with the 27 will make any difference. The picture will be the same. If the 27' was of higher resolution 2560x1440, then the image would be much much better, sharper etc. But since the 23 & 27 are the same resolution, I would prefer the 23" as the dpi is smaller.
