Hi everyone.
I just recently installed a new SSD as well as upgraded from a GTX 660ti to a EVGA GTX 970
It took me a while to figure out I needed to manually adjust the fans in the GPU to keep it from overheating while gaming. Now that's fine and I'm just wondering if these temps/fan speeds are adaquate. This is only with Steam downloading/installing The Witcher 3:
My set up is:
with the EVGA GTX 970
Currently my Tower/Fan/Airflow set up is probably not too good:
I am planning on replacing the case in a while as well as adding a cooler master hyper 212 evo later on.
So this is 1 frontal intake, two on the side of the case cracked open and 1 exhaust beneath the PSU, which also has its own exhaust, adjacent to the CPU.
Temp 3 under ITE IT8728F seems high to me. I don't know what each of these sensors represents. I notice that when I manually ramp up Fans 2 and 3 fan 1 goes much quieter but nothing really happens with Temp. In fact Temp goes up 1 - 3 degrees but is always fluctuating.
My ambient Temp is sort of high. Naturally it is the middle of summer in BC Canada and it gets to about 30 - 35C outside, around 20 - 25C inside (no AC in my room though I do have a large window fan exhausting not far from the PC, but the PC doesn't have much for cool air intake.
I recently reseated/thermal pasted/cleaned my heatsink so unless I did it improperly, which I don't believe I did as I was very meticulous doing it, I don't understand what this Temp reading is and why it randomy ran up to over 70C. I know it isn't a faulty sensor because at the same time my FX8350 sensor also began to rise, albeit only to around 50C.
I note the RPM's of Fan #1 reaching 5k +.
Any idea? Am I freaking out? Is it nothing and I'm just worrying or do I have a problem? A little worried to try it under heavy load (IE GTA 5 on max, although earlier I Was playing that and it did not breach 60C a single time.) This is why I find it odd it is ramping up to 60C with just installing The Witcher 3.
Any help is appreciated!
ADD: Is one of these the culprit? The southern one (with gigabyte on it) is right above my GPU.
PSU: also potential issue.
an XG-P600. Also the oldest part of my current build.
