My friend burned out one of my old 64MB PC100 memory modules in his computer and apparently when he inserted PC133...it worked fine..( is there some voltage difference of some kind that may have caused this? )

It makes me also wonder if I insert my spare G.Skill DDR2-800 modules into the PCChips V21G ( VIA C7 CPU onboard ) if it'll burn...( the motherboard supports DDR2-533 at most )

Won't the motherboard just typically down-clock the memory to supported speeds?
